Flowers Of Time

do not doubt it,
the bay has its spring too,
the flowers of the tide
(~ Basho)

which bloom in salty winds
carried secretly by time

Wild Ents

Rumbling winter storm –
Ents are dancing with their wives –
ancient limbs entwined
(~ Paloma)

I join in their wild dance
around the embers warm

Drenched

drenched in rain
we kissed each other
abating the pain
that did not matter

locked in arms
the shower-cloud smiled
we make rainbows
that stretch across miles

PS: This is my first poem written in collaboration with my husband :-)

There Lies A Beauty

Do take a look
In a child's drawing book
Where beauty lies in art
Of innocence loaded cart
Do look above
Where dims a chandelier
Though not very familiar
Beauty mingles in warm glow
Dancing slow and mellow
Do look underneath
That soft velvet
Which kisses your feet
Beauty is in blooming greens
Of ferns and flowers
And holy riverine between
Beauty needs no definition
Its presence is in every creation
It needs a heart wise
Not just a pair of eyes

To My Core The Petrichor

The earth kissed the soil
Stretched its arms
To embrace the moist
Soothing my core
Oh the aroma of petrichor

And lo drenched in the
Vapours of fortitude
I roll and fall
On heavenly drops of solitude

Oh the aroma of petrichor
Sways me to a distant shore
Soaking in its fragrance
The wild bloom and glance
So happily I wish
The scent to last more

Cloud Burst

the thunder the grumble
my heart does rumble
with pain and pleasure
all that I treasure
emotions corked up for long
tears stored forlong
sudden struck a lightning
insides blare out
I pour and pour
memories sweet and sour
and as the cloud burst
rain kissed the earth
revealed and healed
soul that was sealed
now open and ajar
peace not so far

Cuckoo On A Mango Tree

I wandered lonely as a cloud
On the way I found a cuckoo bird ...

A cuckoo on a mango tree
Sings out loud with a soul free
Her melody reminds of a distant land
Mystic tales of a golden sand
Those afternoon naps
On my granny's lap
She makes me nostalgic
Weaving her magic
Cascading shades of greeny ponds
Gleaming meadows of which I am fond
Honey-dipped voice of a chirpy bird
Sways me away with rhythm unheard
A cuckoo bird with a gaity glee
Calls me aloud from a distant tree

** Inspired from William Wordsworth's 'Daffodil'.
